The Edmonton Expo is now over and I have my first event under my belt. Looking forward to more in the future. Now Page #31 is up, check it out and let me know what you think.

September 24, 2015

The first of the next five pages is now up, check out Page #30 here. As you will notice I've gone back to the classic Exiles look. Many people preferred the panels so I've decided to return to the original format which worked well for me. Feedback is always welcome.

Don't forget to stop by and say "Hi" if you're attending Edmonton Expo this weekend. I'll be having a show special on the last few remaining copies of Exiles Book One.

September 14th, 2015

Hello Everyone, I haven't forgotten about Exiles even though it may seem like it. I've been working on my X-wing cards and I'm hoping to take some of what I've developed style wise and apply that to new pages of Exiles. Yes, new pages. I just reworked the next 5 pages of Exiles. I figured it was time to wrap up the current chapter and get into some new developments. I'm hoping to have all five pages up by Edmonton Expo (September 25-27).

Speaking of Edmonton Expo, I'll have my first Artist Table at an Expo, so if you're planning on attending track me down in Artist Alley. I'll have the few remaining copies of Exiles Book One as well as all kinds of art prints.

Thanks for sticking around and watch for the new pages soon.

March 13th, 2015

Hello Everyone, it's been a while since I've posted an update. What's more fitting than doing on a Friday the 13th?
I haven't forgotten about Exiles, and new pages are coming. Thank you all who been patient.

For those of you who are local to me, I'll be teaching two art courses in the Town of Beaumont, Alberta next month. Creative Sketching for kids and Visual Story Telling for Adults. If you're interested, check out the link here to register.

As some of you know I'm an avid X-wing Miniature Game player. X-wing is one of the best tactical miniature game currently available. Check out at the FFG web site.
With that, I've started creating my own custom artwork for some of the pilots in the game. Currently I have custom cards for "Dark Curse" and Chewbacca available. Contact me for more details if you would like to order some.

Watch for new pages soon(ish)...

July 3rd, 2014

Whoops, forgot to post the new page yesterday... Page #29 is now up! Hope you enjoy it. I'll be taking a couple of weeks off to decide what I want to continue on with. Either keep Exiles going or work on other stories, or maybe just do random pieces of art... your comments are always appreciated.

June 24th, 2014

Page #28 is up, and next week's page will be the last of the Primus flashback storyline. I will be taking a few weeks off and deciding what I want to do with Exiles... it's been over five years since I started this little project. It's pretty crazy when I think of how much time and money I've invested into this little web site.

I have several other creative ventures and stories I'd like to explore so I'll be taking some time to figure out how I want to handle everything.

Also, I will no longer be sending out e-mail updates. If you haven't already, I strongly suggest you join the Exiles facebook page to keep up to date on what's happening in Exile land.

As always I appreciate any and all feedback.

June 18th, 2014

Page #27 is up. Thank you everyone who have provided feedback over the last few weeks. Page #29 will be the last page of the Primus' flash back. Some of you have liked the flash back some haven't, I had plans for one other flash back later on, not sure if I'll still include it or not...

Since there are new Anti-Spam laws coming into effect, anyone that still wants to receive e-mail about Exiles needs to e-mail me and let me know. If I don't receive a significant amount of responses I'll probably just stop sending out e-mails.

Lastly, I've added a new Transformers art piece to the sketches section, check it out and let me know what you think.

June 11th, 2014

Page #26 is up, as always your feedback is appreciated.
What do you think of the flash back?
Would you like to see more back story on other characters?
Is anyone still reading? :-p

June 3rd, 2014

Page #25 is up, hope you enjoy it.
If you're looking for some other web comic reading, here are a couple of links to other local comics for you to enjoy:

Check them out and let me know what you think.

May 28th, 2014

Page #24 is now up. Let me know what you think!

May 21st, 2014

As promised, Page #23 is now up.
I've also added three new pieces to the sketches page. First up is a full colour Captain America in watercolours, a Warhammer 40K Space Wolves piece and a Star Wars clone trooper that was all digital I did for an in-class example.

As always feedback is appreciated (on the pages and sketches section). Without feedback I don't know if anyone is enjoying this site and thus no additional motivation in keeping it going. So feedback (good, bad and constructive) is welcomed.

May 14th, 2014

Hello Everyone, it's been a long time, a real long time. Hopefully you're all still interested in new pages, because that's what you're going to get. Let's start with Page #22!
This page starts a flash back to part of Primus' origin. I almost have this arc complete, so the next couple of months will have regular updates. Hope you enjoy it and as always I appreciate any feedback.

I've also added a couple of pieces in the Sketches section, recreations of famous pieces I really like. First is a rendition of Kent Williams' Wolverine and second is rendition Lone Wolf and Cub by Frank Miller, both in my exiles style of course.

In other news I've been instructing Visual Communication courses and writing up new Art Direction courses for a local technology school. So that's been an interesting challenge. The summer break is allowing me some freedom to work on Exiles more, so if you want to see even more pages and artwork send me your comments.

Lastly I've had a few requests for original artwork, I'm considering selling some artwork and would love to hear from anyone that has any experience in this area (including selling at cons and such). If you're interested please drop me a line: paul@exiles.ca

July 15th, 2013

What's this a new page? Can't be... but it sure looks like it.
Check out Page #21, back in "standard comic format" by popular demand.

I'm currently trying to juggle a lot of different projects, which means pages as I can get to them, but that's been the theme for the last year... I've posted up some other artwork on the exiles facebook though. If you haven't liked it yet, check it out here!

May 8th, 2013

I totally forgot to post this update yesterday, been a crazy week. Speaking of which I am currently looking for a new job. Anyone know of a cool company looking for a Art Director/Graphic Designer/Illustrator, please drop me a line. Full time or part time...
Now check out Page #20.

April 24th, 2013

Check out Page #19. Let me know what you think.

April 16th, 2013

Page #18 is up! I can't believe that it's been so long since I've updated. Life tends to get in the way with fun projects with like this. lots has been going on, but the next few pages are already in the works and should be fairly regular for a while at least. I need to figure out some way to make Exiles at least pay for itself so that I can devote more time to this site...

Check back next week for page 19 and as always I appreciate any and all feedback!

December 19th, 2012

Page #17 is now up. This is the first page in quite some time that I've done on paper. I have to say I much prefer working on real paper with real pencils, ink and watercolour. This process is much more time consuming and thus slower updates, but I think it's worth it.

As always you're feedback is appreciated.

With the standard craziness of the holidays there probably won't be any updates until 2013, assuming of course they Mayans were wrong and we're all still here in a few days. ;-)
I also want to take some time and work on some stylistic experiments so I might be posting some sketches and other pieces... assuming anyone wants to see them?

Have a great holiday season or whatever it is you celebrate this time of year!

December 5th, 2012

Page #16 is up. Missed last week trying to get ready for an event I didn't even make it to... oh well. Added in some more colour this page. What do you think? Keep adding in colour or stick to the black and white?

November 19th, 2012

An early update this week (hopefully this will make up for me being late next week), even with playing Halo 4 I got the update done. :-)
The next couple of pages are written as well, just need to get all the artwork done.

Here is page #15, hope you all like it. I've been receiving some interesting feedback on the new format. Haven't commented yet?
Let me know what you think!

November 14th, 2012

I received some good feedback on page 13, here is page 14. I know a few of you are waiting to see how this progresses before commenting, but I always appreciate comments (both positive and "constructive"), so let me know if you have any thoughts with how this is going.

November 7th, 2012

Hello Everyone, it's pretty amazing how time flies. Sorry it's taken so long for this update, but lots going on in my life. The next few updates "should be" quicker. As you have probably seen by now, Page #13 is a significant divergence from my standard format.

I've come to the conclusion that I don't really enjoy drawing "comics" in the traditional sense. I'm much more interested in telling a story and illustrating aspects of that story, compared to just drawing sequential art. So what this means is you can expect most of the following pages to have a similar format (with variations as required).

I very much look forward to everyones' feedback (good and bad), so please take a second and drop me a line, either by

e-mail or post on the Facebook page.

August 29, 2012

Page #12 is finally up. And it's the first fully digital page that I've done on my new Wacom Cintiq. I'm still torn about the process of doing the pages fully digital. So I'd really like to hear everyone's feedback on what you think. Go back to the old process or stick it out fully digital and see how it develops?

July 29, 2012

Hello everyone. Long time since an update I know. So I thought I'd drop you all a line and let you know that Exiles.ca isn't dead, and more content is coming soon.

In the last many months lots has happened in my life. I've started a new job (making iPhone Apps...) and I've moved as well as other changes. So I've been busy. Now I am finally in a position to get back to working on Exiles. With the next update (in August) I'm moving to a fully digital work flow (just waiting on my new Wacom Cintiq). This should reduce the overall time it takes me per page which will make updates more regular.

I'm also working on a "Director's Cut" of Exiles Book One. So I thought I would ask, what everyone would like to see for additional content?

Would you like more pages?
Extras?
An area of the story fleshed out?
More historical pages of Harry's story?
A mini-story?
Something else...?

Let me know and I'll see what I can do... keep an eye out in August for Page 12 of Exiles Book Two as well as more info on the updated Exiles Book One. Thanks for hanging around!

February 29, 2012

Page 11 is up, and I figured it was time for a nice splash page. Something that didn't work well with the layout of Book One. And since I hate drawing both wings and buildings it made sense to push myself on this page. Let me know what you all think.

February 21, 2012

Page 10 is now up. Making minor changes to things, as always let me know what you think. I have a pretty busy week with web projects so page 11 may or may not be on time next week...

February 15, 2012

Page 9 is now up!

February 7, 2012

Surprise, Page 8 is now online. I know it's taken awhile and I appreciate everyone's patience. I'm working on exiles as much as possible, and there should be at least a few regular pages coming in the next few weeks.

As well, Exiles Book One is now back online, if you're new here (or just need to catch up) you can read all of the original Book One story here. Of course you still need to track down a copy of the printed version to get the extra 12 pages of new content. I have a couple printed versions left and you can purchase one here.

You may have also noticed a slight update to the web site design. Hopefully this makes it easier for everyone to find what they are looking for. As well there are a couple of new Sketches, if you missed them on Facebook.

Let me know what you think of the new Site and New Page!

December 6, 2011

Hello Everyone, it's been a while but life sometimes gets in the way. A couple things I want to mention today. Exiles Book Two is still being worked on, and will continue shortly. Either Like Exiles on Facebook or sign up for the mailing list to be informed when the new pages are posted. As well there will be a web site update with Book One back on line. Of course if you want the exclusive start of Harry's back story you'll have to purchase a printed copy of Exiles Book One. And for the 2011 holiday season I'm offering FREE Shipping to anywhere in Canada or the U.S., and only $5 shipping for anywhere else in the world. If you'd like to order a copy please contact me directly.

July 27, 2011

Page 7 is finally up. Sorry for the delays but Summer is our busy season and life has been a little chaotic. Over the next month or two updates might be a little sporadic, then hopefully be back on track.

As well I'm considering taking Exiles on the road. If there are any Alberta events where it would be appropriate to Display Exiles (comic and gaming events???), let me know and I'll try and make arrangements.

As always feedback is appreciated. Let me know what you think of the new format for book two, how the story is developing and anything else that might be on your mind.

July 13, 2011

Page 6 is now up, better late than never.
Got some very interesting feedback on the last page. Would you like to see Exiles be MORE or LESS Adult in the future?

For those of you who are interested in Games Workshop Warhammer games you might want to check out Jaded Gamer Cast. You might recognize the style of the artwork in their banner. ;-)

June 29, 2011

Page 5 is now up, and We get back to Harry and Mary Agnes. A quick warning, this page may not be safe for work. Let me know what you think.

Also next week's page might be a little late, my schedule is relentless...

June 22, 2011

Page 4 is now up. With four pages in, what is everyone thinking of the new format compared to the old three panel layout of Book One?

BTW, if you've missed out on book one, there are still some copies left, pick up yours today!

June 15, 2011

Page 3 is now up and has our first look at Gabriel.

The winners for the Exiles Book One cover art have been drawn.

The winner of the Exiles Book One Cover artwork is: Martin Flibotte

I also added a second draw for the "Spider-Man in Exile" artwork that showed at the Happy Harbor Comics art show. The Winner of the Spider-Man art is: Kristie Bilodeau

Martin and Kristie, please contact me to make arrangements for your new artwork!!!

Thank you everyone that purchased Exiles Book One. There are a still a few copies available, get yours today!

June 8, 2011

Page 2 is now up. Lots of great feedback on the new full page format. As always feedback is appreciated.

For the few people who haven't yet paid for their signed and numbered copies of Exiles Book One, I'm making the draw for the original artwork for the cover this week. Only people who have paid will be included in the draw. The Winner will be announced next week!

June 1, 2011

TWO YEARS! Can you believe that it's been two years since Exiles Book One started in June 2009?

I would like to start by thanking everyone that's been here since the beginning. Your support and encouragement make this all worth while.

For everyone that are just joining us, welcome. Join the mailing list and Like Exiles.ca on Facebook.

In case you missed it, Page 1 of Exiles Book Two is now up. If you missed Exiles Book One, you can purchase a printed version here.

As you can see, I've changed the format from three panels to a traditional comic book page. This will allow much more flexibility in telling the story and showcasing the artwork.

Pages for Book Two will be updated on Wednesday mornings same as I did with Book One. This summer is shaping up to be extremely busy, but I'll do my best to keep the updates on time and consistent.

A few notes about Exiles Book One. It has now been printed and most of the copies have been sold but there are a few copies remaining. There are 11 new pages in the printed copy that focuses on Harry's back story. This story will be furthered in Book Two, so if you haven't picked up your printed copy yet, you might want to get your hands on one soon.

I hope you all enjoy the journey of Exiles Book Two and as always I welcome feedback and comments!
